Eunice Noyes Obituary (1928

JEFFERSON - Eunice Maud Noyes, 80, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Country Manor in Coopers Mills. She was born in Jefferson on Jan. 31, 1928, the daughter of Bert and Maud (Leavitt) Glidden. Eunice was born and raised in Jefferson and attended Jefferson schools. She married the love of her life, Joseph W. Noyes, Sr., and they had 33 wonderful years together until his passing in 1976. She was a longstanding and hard working employee with Hussey's General Store. She thoroughly enjoyed her co-workers and customers there for 43 years until her retirement in 2007. Eunice had a passion for dancing. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family at gatherings and cookouts and dancing with them at Crystal Falls. She was a member of Grange halls in Jefferson and North Whitefield. Eunice was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Sr.; three brothers, Ralph, Martin and Floyd Glidden; and her sister, Elaine Shorey. She is survived by four sons, Joseph Noyes Jr. and wife Toni, of Mauldin, S.C., Robert Noyes and wife Kay, of Montville, Dave Noyes and wife Sandra, of Jefferson, and Mark Noyes and companion Angela, of Belmont; two daughters, Sheila Black, of Augusta, and Violet Knox and fianc? Donny, of Jefferson; brother-in-law Leslie Noyes and his wife, of Connecticut; cousin Audrey Smith, whom she thought of as a sister, of Windsor; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a celebration of Eunice's life will be held when the visitation concludes. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery, Windsor, in the spring.
