Augusta - Evelyn F. Bey, 94, passed away October 3, 2008 at Glenridge Nursing Home. She was born in Augusta on October 23, 1913, the daughter of Mark Bradstreet and Estelle Kenney. She attended Cony High School. She loved to ice skate in her youth. She worked in her husband?s restaurants in Hallowell as a waitress and also worked as a nanny. Evelyn enjoyed going to Boothbay Harbor, Old Orchard Beach, Canada, Atlantic City, N.J. and Branson, MO. She was predeceased by her husband Meto Soloman Bey; two sons Richard and Ronald; a brother Mark and sister Mildred; and her father and mother. Evelyn in survived by her daughters, Janet M. Smith of Cahokia, IL and Margaret B. Davis of Augusta; brothers Joseph A. Bradstreet of Palermo and Robert O. Bradstreet of Augusta; 8 grandchildren, Roxann Halsey of Cahokia, IL., Brian Smith of St. Louis, MO., Shelley Smith of Cahokia, Il., Darlyn Mason of Gardiner, Peggy Soucy of Mount Vernon, Bruce Morgan of Chelsea, Dick Bey and Rhonda; 8 great grandchildren, Rick Chase of Augusta, Natasha Chase of Palermo, Troy Soucy of Mount Vernon, Shannon Soucy of Chelsea, Bruce and Brandon Morgan of Chelsea, and 3 in Illinois. also 3 great-great grandchildren, Tanner Watson of Palermo, Dahlia Chase of Augusta and 1 in Illinois. I would like to thank Simone, Helen Mary, Terry and Dave, nurses at the orange unit at Glenridge, and also the CNA?s for the care of my mother. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 pm at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00.
