AUGUSTA ? Evelyn Mary May (Levesque) Mitton ?Tiny,? 87, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2007. Evelyn was born Jan. 8, 1920, in Van Buren, to William and Sophia Levesque, one of seven siblings. She grew up in the Van Buren area until age 18 when she moved to Augusta and started her new life and family. Evelyn married Woodrow Wilson Mitton on Sept. 15, 1943. Evelyn worked for and retired from the State of Maine. After retirement she loved spending summers in Rockwood at camp, where she enjoyed fishing and picking berries with family. Evelyn also enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading. She was a kind and loving mother to William and Sally Mitton, Elizabeth and Colby Clark, Roxanne and Stephen Lizotte, Valerie and Patrick Rowland; her grandchildren, Stacy Cote and Travis Mitton, Darcie Frohlich, Justin and Noah Rowland, Keisha and Jonah Lizotte; and her great-grandchildren, Maura Moody, Haley Frohlich and Aviendha Rowland. She will be missed by her family and friends, but as she always said ?Don?t worry I?ll be all right.? At her request there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at noon Friday, April 13, at the chapel at the old Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Woodrow.
