Faith Gordon, 77, of North Monmouth, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at Androscoggin Hospice House after a long illness. She was born in Monmouth on December 2, 1939, the daughter of the late Roger E. and Virginia (Clark) Gordon, No. Monmouth. She graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1958, where Faith excelled in basketball, then she joined the United States Marine Corps. After her discharge Faith moved to towns in Maine and then Sherrill, Syracuse and Utica, New York where she lived for over 50 years. Faith worked for Dr. and Mrs. Segal (1963-1981), and Dunlop Tires (1981-1988), plus a sundry of other jobs, including cabinet maker and rubber stamp maker. Faith leaves her sisters, Barbara (Gordon) Parker Chick, No. Monmouth; and Mary Lou and Nelson Gamage, Litchfield. Special people in Faith’s life were: nephew,Todd and Lana Parker, No. Monmouth; cousin, Lynne (Bishop) and George Noyes, Ridgefield, CT; cousin, Bruce Gray, Poland; uncle, Don Obermeyer, Lewiston; and a treasured little girl, her great-niece, Gianna Rose Tripp, Litchfield who stole Faith's heart as no other child ever has. She is also survived by three nieces and a nephew, several cousins and a multitude of devoted, dear friends in Utica and Florida, especially Dawn Polak, Wayne Del Medico, Phyllis Powers-Maxson, Fran (Cote) Theberge and many more too numerous to mention. In Utica, Faith had a menagerie of wild animals: 6 cats, a skunk and a possum. She also loved watching Dressage horses and equestrian competitions for hours. Faith loved carving wood guitars, wood scenes, flowers and birds. She was a tremendously gifted woman and a phenomenal friend with a loving, generous, kind nature. Faith will never be forgotten and she shall always be loved and missed. Rest easy now that you are with Jesus, free from pain, and you are with those who have gone before you. Special thanks to Clover Manor and the staff, and to Androscoggin Hospice House, Auburn. The Hospice staff provided unequaled care, love and concern for Faith and the management of her pain. There will be a Memorial Service in Faith's honor this summer. A notice will be posted on Facebook.
