READFIELD - Francis M. Adell, 66, of Readfield died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at his home. He was born in Augusta on Jan. 24, 1943, the son of Harold Sr. and Ruby (Stevens) Adell. He attended Readfield Elementary School and later graduated from Cony High School in 1961. After high school, Francis began a long career in the automobile parts business. He worked in the parts departments of Bennett Chevrolet, Coe Chevrolet, Barrows Chevrolet, Paul Canton Chevrolet and Furbush Chevrolet. He was working at Motor Supply when he retired. Francis loved NASCAR, especially the Earnhardts; camping; and old trucks. He and his wife, Shirley (King) Adell, were married for 38 years. Mr. Adell was predeceased by two sons, Larry and James Libby; and a brother, Harold 'Spike' Adell Jr. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, Dwayne Libby and his wife, Sherry, of Whitefield; a daughter, Jane Haskell and her husband, Scott, of Hallowell; his daughter-in-law, Pamela Libby, of Whitefield; a brother, Wendel Adell and his wife, Joyce, of Readfield; a sister, Jeanette Frazee and her husband, Richard, of Readfield; a sister-in-law, Ginger Adell, of Readfield; five grandchildren, Alicia Bickford, Thomas Libby, Larry Libby Jr., James Libby and Shallon Libby; along with six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at East Readfield Cemetery in the spring, with a service announcement in the paper at that time.
