Obituary

WINTHROP - Francis B. Grim, 83, of Winthrop and formerly of Littleton, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 14, 1923, the son of James T. and Helen (Fouch) Grim. Francis served in the United States Army during World War II. Not long after his honorable discharge from the Army, he married Mary Kornick on May 31st, 1947. They moved to Maine in 1978, living in Littleton before residing in Winthrop for the last five years. Francis was a self employed accountant whose life centered around his family. He loved camping, fishing and hiking, especially with them. He was also an avid gardener who very much enjoyed his vegetable and flower gardens. An incredibly loving husband and father, he will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Francis was predeceased by two daughters, Anne Noonan and Theresa Pickel, and two brothers, Vernon and William Grim. He is survived by his wife, Mary Grim, of Winthrop; four sons, David of Hedgesville, WV, Robert of New Freedom, PA, Michael of Topsham and Charles of Ludlow; three daughters, Cecilia Adams of Columbus, OH, Mary Brown of New Limerick and Mary Lou Grim of Winthrop; a brother, Gerald, of Airville, PA; a sister, Irene Schiller, of Baltimore, MD; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Winthrop. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.
