WINTHROP--Fred Ernest Adams Jr., 87, of Winthrop, Maine, a former resident of Livermore Falls, Maine died peacefully at home on August 22, 2013 in the company of his family. Fred was born January 16, 1926 and adopted by Fred and Annie Adams of Livermore Falls, Maine. He was educated in the schools of Livermore Falls and at age 17 joined the Merchant Marines. Following service in the Merchant Marines he joined the US Army and was stationed in the Philippine Islands. Fred worked for Albany Felt, the Wilton Woolen Company, International Paper and James River retiring from the Otis paper mill in 1988 after 34 years of service. His Springer Spaniel Bentley, who never left his side, is wondering what happened to his best friend. His sister-in-law Lois Seamon, sister-in-law Brenda Endicott, brother-in-law Leon Seamon and wife Dawn, sister-in-law Miriam Ewing, sister-in-law Althea Hoisington and husband Richard, nephew Jeffrey Adams and wife Vicki, nephew Ronald Adams, sister Jane Wilbanks, Niece Margo Holland and husband Jeffrey, son-in-law Newland Lesko, and friends Norman and Lynn Quirrion, Kevin and Ellen Franchetti, Elaine Haley, Beryl-Ann Johnson, Donna Cheney and Carl Gordon were all especially cherished for their visits, calls, gifts of home baked goods and most of all for their love, kindness and friendship.
