Obituary

Winthrop – Mr. Gary Lee Beal, 73, died peacefully after an extended illness at Maine General Rehabilitation Center at Gray Birch in Augusta. He was born at UPMC McKeesport Hospital in PA to Wilma & Charles Beal. Gary "Beal" grew up in West Mifflin, PA and graduated from the local high school in 1970. He pursued his education further at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, where his foundation for a lifelong career in technical & mechanical expertise was laid. Over the years, Gary honed his talents across various trades and eventually channeled his experiences and skills into a business, Mr. G Services. His business flourished thanks to his hard work, integrity, reputation, and unique skillset. He earned respect by consistently offering his clients patience and precision with any job he was hired for. Beyond his professional life, Gary had a deep passion for riding his Harley Davidson and put many miles on his bike with Bob & Brian. The trio took every opportunity to hit the highway together and would often stop for a hot meal and good conversation. Beal will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, sense of humor, and the deep love he carried for his family and friends. On April 21, 1989, Gary met the love of his life, Bayna Castner, and they spent the next 36 years making memories with those that they loved most. After he retired, he would often be found tinkering on projects for others and making improvements in their home. They loved being at "Camp Complain", where they enjoyed holidays with good food, camp projects galore, and memories by the fire. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and by the many who loved him. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Wilma & Charles Beal and his loving wife, Bayna Castner. He is survived by his older brother, Richard Beal (Frances Plunkett). Gary shared a close bond with his cousin, Barbara Garwood (Tom), his in-laws and best friend, Bob & Deb Goulet, nephews Ben & Owen Goulet, and the dogs, Sidney & Opie. Brother in-law, Dale Boothby, nephew Aaron Boothby (Miranda & Carson), Brother in-law, Gary Boothby (the late Betsey), Sister in-law, Brenda Boothby (Chris Nelson). Bayna's daughters, June Castner (Mark Bartenfelder) & Janet Canty, along with many grandchildren. Very special friends, Paul & Carol Audette, Don & Marcia Riggs, John & Christne McEwan, Dane & Kristina Thomason, Aaron Chase (Amanda), and Brian, Nicole, & Sarah Thibodeau. A celebration of life and private interment will be held later. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop, ME.
