AUGUSTA ? George Linwood Eaton, 78, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. He was born in Augusta, Dec. 29, 1924, the son of George and Hattie Eaton. George married Viola Guimond at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Augusta, Jan. 10, 1949. He enjoyed painting; music, especially country western; and working and building things with wood. George was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Viola Eaton of Augusta; two sons, Norman Eaton of Greene, and Larry Eaton of Augusta; one daughter, Pamela J. McAllister of Augusta; two sisters, Louise Moore of Augusta and Beverly Eaton of Lewiston; one granddaughter, Robin Morton and her husband, Robert Jr., of Vassalboro; two great-grandchildren, Dennis and Tyler Morton; and three step-great-grandchildren, Robert Jr., William, and Tamara Morton. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. George will be buried at St. Augustine's Cemetery, Augusta, in the spring.
