WEST GARDINER - Gerald Burgess Yeaton, 73, of Yeaton Drive died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. He was born in Hallowell on June 22, 1936, the son of John and Evelyn (Burgess) Yeaton. Gerald served in the Army from 1959 to 1961. He had worked for J.F. Hodgkins in Randolph for more than 20 years and retired from the Augusta Civic Center in 1998. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and just spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a very family-oriented man and the best Dad anyone could ask for. We will all miss him very much, but he will be in our hearts forever. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Hinkley Yeaton, of West Gardiner; two sons, Mark Yeaton and his wife, Missy, of Augusta, and Scott Yeaton and his wife, Dee, of West Gardiner; a daughter, Tammy Dupont, of West Gardiner; a brother, Robert Yeaton and his wife, Carol, of Farmingdale; six grandchildren, Todd Yeaton, Amanda Yeaton, Patrick Yeaton, Derrick Dupont, Kristin Yeaton and Dylan Dupont; also several nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service in Hallowell Cemetery at a later date and time to be announced. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.
