WINTHROP ~ Geraldine M. “Gerry” Easter, 79, of Winthrop, died Friday February 5, 2016 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, October 3, 1936 the daughter of Mabel and Edmund Rogers. She grew up in New Bedford and met her husband, Reggie there. They were married February 4, 1956. Gerry and Reggie moved often when Reggie’s work with Carleton Mills required it. They moved to Winthrop and settled there in 1972. Gerry worked at Mr. Market for many years as a cashier and later as a supervisor. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, cats and tending to her flowers. She liked to visit the ocean and enjoy a meal of lobster. She was active in the American Legion Post 40 Auxiliary. Gerry was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Reggie; a granddaughter, and her great-granddaughter, Jaidyn Olivia Bigelow. She is survived by her sons, Robert Easter, of Winthrop and Ronald Easter and his wife, Lorene, of New York; her daughter, Donna Macleod and her husband, Aubrey, of Cape Breton, NS; a brother, Kenneth Pacheco and his wife, Mel, of MA; a sister, Sandy Roberts and her husband, Danny, of MA; her grandchildren, Robert Easter and his wife, Stephanie, Sarah Easter, Daniel Easter, Jessica Bigelow and her husband, Shane, Elizabeth Goslow and her husband, Thomas, Craig Macleod, Shawn Macleod and his companion, Brandi Muise and Cody Macleod along with 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop, Tuesday February 9, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. Relatives and friends may visit from 4:00p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Spring burial will be at the Glenside Cemetery in Winthrop.
