AUGUSTA - Gertrude "Trudy" Mae Williams, 79, passed away peacefully Monday, January 24, 2022, with her granddaughter, Feather, and sister, Mary, by her side and with the love of her family and friends being spoken to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a wonderful friend and grandmother-figure to many.

She was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and carried her faith in her heart. She loved working on puzzles, crocheting, sewing, seeing her family, especially the grandchildren, and helping those around her. Anything with hummingbirds, royal blue or purple seemed to make its way into her possession. She loved when she got to travel to see family in Arizona, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Trudy was born in Monmouth and grew up in Readfield and Wayne, Maine. She is survived by her sisters, Ellen Thomas and husband Claude, Mary Riggs and husband Dennis, and Sandra Harkins; brothers, Bruce Weymouth and his wife Patricia and Larry Burnham; sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Lori Bickford and Norman and Jennifer Williams; daughter, Penny Wharton and partner Joel McCabe; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers, Andrew and Harry.

In honoring with Trudy’s wishes funeral services will be private.
