Winthrop- Gina Burgess, 48, passed away unexpectedly on January 8th, 2026 with family by her side. She was born April 23rd, 1977, the daughter of Dale Sr. and Christie (Kelley) Burgess. Gina was a devoted mother, a hard worker, and a true jokester whose laughter and love filled every room she entered. Her children were her heart and soul, and everything she did was rooted in her deep love for them.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing cards, enjoying games of Yahtzee with her daughter, and relaxing while watching cooking shows. Though she had a strong dislike for insects, she never missed an opportunity to tease, once delighting in tormenting her aunt with a ladybug, a perfect example of her playful sense of humor.
Her work ethic was unwavering. She was employed at AMI and worked right up until her passing. Previously, she worked at Uplift in Gardiner, where she supported adults with developmental disabilities with compassion and care, and she also worked for a cleaning business. No matter the job, she gave her best and touched lives through her kindness and dedication.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Loren and Elaine Burgess, and her maternal grandparents, Raymond and Beverely Kelley. She is survived by her loving parents, Dale and Christie; her cherished children, daughter Chantelle and son Derek; her brother, Dale II; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at the Ladd Center, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and remember the laughter and love she brought into their lives.
