Glenn L. Thurston 1936 - 2015 SPRING HILL, Fla. - Glenn L. Thurston, of Spring Hill, Fla., passed away on Feb. 9, 2015, at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born in 1936, in Farmington, the son of Alston L. and Helen Ladd Thurston. Glenn married the former Loraine Hall on Oct. 5, 1956. Glenn graduated from Williams High School in Oakland, and attended various trades schools in Massachusetts and Maine. He worked for the Local Pipefitters Union for 10 years, at various sites in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, and held Master Plumbers, Master Oil, and Solid Fuels licenses. Glenn owned G. L. Thurston, Plumbing and Heating, in Farmingdale, for more than 20 years, later moving to Mt. Vernon. Glenn was a member of Kennebec Masonic Lodge #5, A.F.&A.M. of Hallowell, and was past member of Kora Temple Shrine, Chapter and Commandry Lodges. He was a member of AARP, National Rifle Association, Weeki Wachee Woodcarvers in Florida, and Senior Citizens Club of Spring Hill, Fla. He enjoyed fishing at Moosehead Lake and West Branch Pond; woodworking, furniture making, and golf. Since 1998, he and his wife spent most of the year in Spring Hill, Fla. Glenn is survived by his wife, Loraine; two sons, Glenn Jr. and his wife, Linda of Topsham, Shawn E. and his wife, Janice of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Ryan and Tracy Thurston, and Matt Zeh; one brother, Stirling of Oakland, and two sisters, Elaine Morse and her husband, Phil of Readfield, and Sharron Thurston of Dover; and several nieces and nephews.
