RANDOLPH - Harolyn E. Buzzell, 83, of Randolph, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation, Glenridge Drive in Augusta. She was born on Granite Hill, in Hallowell Aug. 8, 1926, the daughter of Harold and Ethel (Whitten) Blake. She grew up in Rumford and attended school there. She was married to Arthur A. Buzzell on Aug. 29, 1946. Harolyn worked for a number of years for Margaret Smith of Randolph as a seamstress. Mrs. Buzzell enjoyed bowling, puzzles, reading, knitting, crocheting, going to lawn sales and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Dorthea (Blake) Franklin; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Buzzell, and a son in law, Raymond Collins. Harolyn is survived by her husband, of 63 years, Arthur A. Buzzell; her sons, Arthur L. Buzzell and his wife, Leslie, of Chelsea and Gerard H. Godin and his wife, Diane, of Skowhegan; her daughters, Karen Gallup and her husband, Frank, of Gardiner and Lorraine Collins, of Gardiner; a sister, Halcyon (Whitten) Roberts, of Augusta; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may visit at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, Tuesday 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at a time to be announced. Burial will be at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta. Harolyn's family would like to thank the staff at Glenridge and Dr. Szela for their excellent care and support.
