Obituary

H. Joanne Lathe Knowles Manchester – I, H. Joanne Lathe Knowles, age 88, of Manchester, died peacefully at MaineGeneral Medical Center, with my family by my side, on May 12, 2022. I attended the one-room school at Louden Hill and Maria Clark Grammar School in Hallowell and graduated in 1953 from the "old" Hallowell High School on Warren Street. I had many jobs during my years, the last being at the Manchester Town Office and President for many years of the Manchester Fire Department Auxiliary. I enjoyed many monthly lunch get-togethers with my 1953 classmates. I enjoyed feeding all my feathered friends. I was predeceased by the love of my life, my husband of 45 years, Rance R. Knowles, our infant daughter Myra Louise Knowles, my son, Warren and his wife Linda, my grandson Daniel, my parents, my sister Virginia Clark and her husband David Clark of Gardiner. I am survived by my son Russell Knowles and his Wife Iris of Manchester, grandson Kevin knowles of Manchester, grandson Andrew Knowles and his wife Maegan and great-grandsons, Aiden, Mason, Ethan, and Connor all of Livermore, great-granddaughters Kaitlynn and Holly, great-grandson Alexander, all of Readfield, son Brent Knowles his wife Carolyn, grandsons Zachariah and Samuel and granddaughters, Hannah and MacKenzie Knowles Carter, great-grandsons Liam and Owen Carter, great granddaughters Teagan Knowles and Noah Miller, all of Winchester, VA, grandson Darren and his wife Heather, great-grandchildren, Camren and Emma, all of Manchester; nieces nephews and many friends. I want to give special thanks to my daughter in laws Linda Knowles and Iris Knowles for all the special care that they have given me the last few years of my life. My burial will be held at a later date, at my family's discretion. I do not want any flowers (I enjoyed many of them during my lifetime), therefore, I am requesting memorial donations be made to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society, 10 Pet Haven Lane, Augusta, ME 04330, (designated for spaying/neutering). My funeral arrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Care, One Church Street, Augusta, ME 04330 where memories and condolences may be shared at https://khrfuneralhomes.com/obituaries/harriet-knowles
