LEWISTON- Irmgard D. Sirois, 91, passed away on May 15, 2025, at the Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, where she was surrounded by her loved ones. Irmgard was born in Urach, Germany, on May 13, 1934, to the late Otto and Babette (Kachel) Werner.
Irmgard attended schooling in Germany, where she spent most of her younger years. Due to her husband military career, she has lived in many states in the United States, where she had her children's birth in various states; Germany, New York, Massachusetts, Maine and California.
Irmgard met and married her husband, Joseph Paul Emile Yvon Sirois whilst he was touring Germany during his time in the United States Army. They shared 50 wonderful years together traveling and doing things they loved before his passing in 2006.
She was a spinner for Edwards Mill in Augusta and worked as a weaver at Carleton Woolen Mill in Winthrop as well. Irmgard happily retired in 1980.
She loved her time spent in the flower gardens and was always finding ways to keep busy whether it was doing a puzzle, playing cards, knitting, sewing, traveling or enjoying the casino.
Irmgard is survived by her children, Marie's husband, - Terry, Son - Roger, Son - Glenn, his wife Leona and their children Jamie, Chris and Lindsey, Dolly's husband, - Jeff and their children Michael (Jason), Shaun and Steven, Daughter - Bianka, her husband Michel and her children Andrew and Shane, and Son - Tony, his wife Tina and their children Monica, Angela, Vanessa, Casandra, Abram and Olivia. Many Great grandchildren, cousins', nieces, nephews, sister in-law Lilia, and brother Herman Werner.
In addition to her husband, 2 of her brothers and parents, she is predeceased by two daughters, Marie and Dolly, who died at a young age.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 2, from 5-8PM at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St. Winthrop. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday June 3, at 11AM, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 20 Lake St, Winthrop. Immediately following Mass, Irmgard will be laid to rest next to her husband at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd, Augusta. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
