AUGUSTA ? Isabelle A. Gasink, 84, of Augusta, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 7, 2002. She was born in Minneapolis, Feb. 18, 1918, the daughter of Swedish parents, Alma Handberg Falk and Arvid Alfredson Falk. Isabelle graduated from high school in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minneosta. In 1940 she married John W. Gasink in Minnepolis. She was a homemaker in her earlier years, raising three children of whom she was very proud. Later, she worked with her husband at the closely held business, Meldrum Building Products, in St. Paul, Minn. After retiring, Isabelle and John moved to Grantham, N.H., where they were enthusiastic members of the Eastman Lake community. In 1996, Isabelle moved to Augusta to be closer to family. Isabelle was an independent lady who enjoyed many activities. She was an avid bridge player who looked forward to playing each Thursday at the William S. Cohen Senior Center. She also delighted in bridge at the Augusta Country Club, where she was a member. Isabelle was an accomplished rug-hooker who belonged to several rug-hooking groups and made keepsake rugs for her loved ones. She also found friendship and pleasure in her quilting group. Isabelle was very interested in investing and was a founding partner and past president of The Maine Marketeers, an Augusta women's investment club. She was a member of South Parish Congregational Church and PEO. Isabelle was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1986, and her sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Roy Lind. Isabelle is survived by her three children, daughter, Mary L. Loehr and husband, Kenneth, of Deland, Fla., and two sons, Donald J. Gasink and wife, Nancy, of Augusta, and Richard W. Gasink and wife, Virginia, of San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Kenneth Loehr of Atlanta, Ga., Stephanie Loehr of New York, N.Y., Krista Gasink Witt and husband, Jerome, of Andover, Mass., Kara Gasink of Burlington, Vt., John Gasink of Massachusetts and fiancee, Kelly Peterson, Lisa Gasink of Augusta, and Lila and Griffin Gasink of San Juan. In addition, two great-grandsons, John and Mark Witt of Andover, and several nieces, nephews and close friends. A memorial service celebrating Isabelle's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at the South Parish Congregational Church, with the Rev. John Zehring officiating. Isabelle's family looks forward to greeting her friends at a gathering at the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the William S.
