AUGUSTA-Isola Anna Dearborn, 86, died Oct. 14, 2001, at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta after a long period of declining health. She was born Oct. 4, 1915, at home on Northern Avenue in Augusta, a daughter of Maurice and Victoria (Jacques) Binette, and attended Augusta schools. Isola married Leon Dearborn, Oct. 25, 1937, at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Augusta. She was employed at several locations, including the Veterans Administration Center at Togus and the former Augusta General Hospital, becoming a full time homemaker after the birth of their daughter. Together, they built a house on Tasker Road in Augusta, where they lived for 40 years. Mr. Dearborn died December 31, 1994. After his death, she moved to Alton Road in Augusta and then to Atria Assisted Living in Kennebunk. She was a communicant of St. Andrew?s Roman Catholic Church in Augusta. She was an active life member of American Legion Fitzgerald-Cummings Post 2 of Augusta. She was especially well-known for her baking and cooking skills. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Dearborn Cherry; her son-in-law, Christopher Cherry; three grandsons, David, Thomas, and Benjamin Cherry, all of Kennebunk; a sister, Emeline Paradis, of Winslow; her brothers, Lawrence and Maurice Binette, of Augusta; a close friend, Beverly Mooney; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at St. Andrew?s Roman Catholic Church in Augusta, with the Rev. Michael Seavey officiating. Burial will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Old Belgrade Road, Augusta.
