Obituary

Janet Y. Theriault 68, Of Sidney, passed away unexpectedly August 31, 2021 at home. Janet was born in Augusta Me, to Richard and Joan Brann on August 26, 1953. She attended locals school, graduating from Cony High School. In 1972 Janet married Phillip Theriault of Waterville. They moved around a lot but settled into the Chelsea area. After her sons were born, Janet took on several jobs, such as a cashier for Kings, a care provider for several agencies and even a dump truck operator! However Janet really seemed to have a passion for healthcare and taking care of her Mom, Joan. Before Covid, Janet was a regular at the Knights of Columbus, The Calumet Club and Crystal Falls to play Bingo. She, along with her sister and mother would socialize and gamble with their other bingo friends. She also was an animal lover, usually having cats, dogs or birds to care for and it seemed the more she had the better. She currently had 2 cats. This year for her 68th birthday her son Phil, planned a surprise party that was attended by all of her kids and grandchildren! She was happy to see everyone at once and enjoyed the conversations, gifts and cards given by them all. It was a highlight for all of us too. Even though divorced, Janet and Phil remained close friends until his death in 2015. She was also predeceased by her father Richard Brann in 1999. Survivors include her mother Joan Brann of Sidney, her sons Phillip Theriault and girlfriend Laura of Sidney, Brent Theriault and wife Sarah of Norridgewock. Her beloved grandchildren Ashley Blier and her husband Robbie of Palermo, Hailey Theriault of Norridgewock, Richard Theriault of Windsor, Brandon Theriault of Norridgewock and Harrmony Theriault, a great granddaughter, Sophia, who she adored so much; as well as siblings Linda Cummings and husband Ronald of Sidney and James and wife Sylvia Brann of Whitefield; plus many nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of Life for Mom on September 10, 2021 at the American Legion Post 2, starting at 2pm. Anyone may attend and celebrate her life with us. Feel free to bring a dish, photos or share some memories. Arrangements are under the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home & Cremation Care where you may also leave condolences.
