SIDNEY ~ Jean P. Caron, 80, of Sidney, died Tuesday January 27, 2015 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. He was born May 14, 1934 in Jay, Maine the son of Pierre and Virginia (LeTalien) Caron. Jean grew up in Jay and Livermore Falls. He served two periods in the United States Army. The first from 1952 to 1955 and the second from 1958 to 1961. After leaving the service he worked for many years at AMHI, retiring in 1985. Jean loved to hunt and fish and was an avid card player. He enjoyed travelling around the country in his RV and loved his two miniature pinschers, “Rusty” and “PJ” He was an easy-going guy and very happy person. Mr. Caron was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by two nieces, Maria Ryder, of Poland, Maine and Darlene Freudenberg, of Sidney; a nephew, Tod Wing, of Sidney and his godson, Dennis LeTalien. A service with military honors will be held in the spring at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta.
