Augusta- Jean M. Keddy (Walls), 67, of Gray Birch Dr., died unexpectedly on February
24, 2026, at her home due to preexisting health-related causes.
Jean was born in Worcester, MA on February 9, 1959, the daughter of the late Jeannie
M. (Bergman / Walls) Jolicoeur and Robert Walls. Jeanie was remarried to Richard
Jolicoeur, who treated Jean like she was his own, even after the passing of her mother.
She attended local schools and graduated from Doherty Memorial High School in
Worcester, MA.
In her early years Jean moved around with her husband of 35 years, Wayne A. Keddy,
who was in the military. Jean and Wayne lived in Texas, Hawaii and New York before
returning to Worcester, MA. Eventually they moved to make their home in Maine. Jean
worked doing residential and commercial cleaning. In her spare time, she enjoyed
baking for family friends especially her pumpkin bread and her potato salad. She
enjoyed volunteering at the craft center at Gray Birch, helping with different craft
projects, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Thorin and Patrica Miles, and a brother,
John Robert Walls. Jean would also tell you she was predeceased by her beloved cat
Smokey, who was more than a cat to her. She is survived by two sons, James and
Joshua Keddy. James and Amanda Keddy of Biddeford, and Jean's eight
grandchildren, Elijah, Aiden, Liam, Layla, Dylan, Maddox, Burton, and Olivia. Joshua
Keddy and her favorite fur-baby Kimber of Augusta. Jean leaves behind many friends
and touched the hearts of many around her.
A Celebration of Life for Jean will be held on Sunday, March 15th at 1PM, at the Arch
Beta Resident Center; 21 Gray Birch Drive, Augusta, ME. There will also be a grave
side service in the spring of 26 when Jean's ashes will be laid to rest along with her
family that has passed before her. The date of the service at Notre Dame Cemetery in
Worcester, MA is to be determined. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction
