AUGUSTA—Joan L. Goggin, 74, of Augusta, died Sunday October 9, 2011 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge following a long illness. She was born in Milford, Indiana, December 24, 1936 the daughter of Robert and Geraldine (Biller) Stump. Over the years, Joan worked at the Ford Motor Company, did child care in her home, was a teacher’s aid, worked at Frank Pomerleau Furniture, and in the purchasing department of MaineGeneral Medical Center where she was working when she retired. Joan enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, cooking, and shopping. She was predeceased by her parents; her stepmother, Frances Stump, and her special friend, Stanley. Joan is survived by her children, Jeffrey Goggin and his wife, Shirley, of China and their children, Jason, Kevin, and Kayla, daughter, Pamela Cummings and her husband, Gary, of China and their son, Zachary, son, Stacy Goggin and his wife, Heidi, of Hallowell and their children, Benjamin, Damien, Holly, and Tiffany; her stepbrother, Dale Dabrowiak and his wife, Jan, of Granger, Indiana along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At her request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. There will be a graveside service at the Bolton Hill Cemetery, Rt 3 in Augusta, on Tuesday October 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Joan’s family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to the entire Orange Valley staff at Glenridge for their tender and compassionate care.
