Falmouth- John Briggs passed away at his home in Falmouth Maine on Tuesday July 28, 2026.Lovingly cared for by his wife, Trish and son, Henry during his last 6 months.
The second child of Robert and Louise Briggs. John was born in Augusta, Maine on August 6, 1955. He grew up in Hallowell, Maine and was educated in Hallowell schools and graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 1974. He graduated from Babson College in 1978.
Upon graduation John returned to Maine to work in the printing and business systems field. He met his wife Patricia near his family's camp on Richardson Lake the summer of 1987. They married and settled in Falmouth.
John had a strong reputation in business and did with perfection whatever he set his mind to do. He enjoyed working on and restoring boats, cars, snowmobiles, and the family camp, he enjoyed helping others and could fix anything.
He was devoted to his wife Trish, his son Henry and his many lifelong friends and neighbors. He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia of Falmouth; son, Henry Briggs of NH; brothers, Robert Briggs of Augusta, Tom and Sherry Briggs of Syndney; sisters, Poogy Bjerklie of NYC and Elizabeth and Tim Nevins of Manchester; niece, Ashleigh Briggs-Davis; nephews, Ian and Geoffery Briggs.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11am at Forest Grove Cemetery, Augusta, ME. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church Street, Augusta, ME.
