AUGUSTA- Jon Nathan Davis, 70, formerly of Whiting, ME, died Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the VA Medical Center @ Togus after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born October 9, 1951 in Machias, the son of the late Nathan and June (Look) Davis. Jon graduated from Washington Academy and, not long after, enlisted in the United States Army. He was very proud of his service to his Country. Jon served from January 24, 1974 until his honorable discharged on January 25, 1977, achieving the rank of Corporal. After his active duty service, Jon joined and eventually retired from the Maine Army National Guard. For most of his life, Jon lived at his parents' home in Holmes Bay. He worked along side his dad and in Bar Harbor restaurants for a few years before relocating to Augusta for the remaining years of his life. Jon is survived by his sisters, Judy Armstrong and her husband David, Linda Mitchell and her husband Bob, Jackie Santos and her husband Al, and Janie Gatcomb and her husband Lewis, as well as several nieces and nephews. Jon's sisters would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Togus for the compassion and care he received throughout his illness. A celebration of Jon's life will be held in the spring at Cutler Cemetery where he will lie to rest next to his mother and father.
