AUGUSTA - Joyce (Michaud) Foster, 71, of Glenridge Drive, and formerly of Riverside Drive, died Feb. 1, 2011, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Glenridge Drive after a long illness. She was born in Augusta on June 2, 1939, the daughter of Wilfred J. Michaud and Bernadette (Giroux) Michaud. Joyce attended St. Augustine School and graduated from Cony High School. Prior to her retirement in 1996, she was employed by State Cable TV (now Time Warner Cable) for 22 years. Joyce was predeceased by her parents; her ex-husband, Richard W. Michaud, in 2002; several aunts and uncles; and a granddaughter, Katherine Mary Pooler, in 2001. She is survived by her husband, Don Foster, of Borger, Texas; her two daughters, Mary A. Michaud of Manchester and Suzanne Pooler and her husband, Michael, of Oakland; her sister, Carol Judkins, and her husband, Alton, of East Winthrop; her niece, Gaila Beach, and her husband, Thomas, of Contoocook, N.H.; and four stepdaughters; several stepgrandchildren; and several cousins. The family would like to express appreciation for the loving care that Joyce received from the staff at MaineGeneral Nursing & Rehabilitation at Glenridge during the many years she was in their care. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta. Visiting hours will be held in early spring and will be announced.
