AUGUSTA- Juanita Irene Hanson, 75, formerly of Steep Falls, Maine, died August 15, 2023 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care @ Glenridge after a long illness.

Juanita was born in Caribou on March 19, 1948, the daughter of Gilbert and Almeda (Whitmore) Libby.

She was educated in Fort Fairfield, graduating from Fort Fairfield High School in 1967. Following graduation, Juanita enlisted in the United States Army.

Juanita was a hard worker all her life, providing for her family through various jobs she held before finding employment with Fairchild Semiconductor, where she retired after over 33 years as a supervisor.

Juanita loved spending time with family and friends, and more recently liked watching old western movies and crime shows on T.V.

Juanita is survived by her son, Heath Hanson, of Benton; her daughter, Roberta Hanson-Hoel & her wife, Jay, of Steep Falls; her brother, Danny Libby, of Fort Fairfield; her two sisters, Susan Rassmussen & husband, Randy, of Fort Fairfield and Linda Warner & husband, John, of Bath; four grandsons, Nathan, Brandon, Justin and Dylan; three step grandsons, John, Justin W. and Kyle and one step granddaughter, Rissa; a great grandson, Henry; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9th at Hillside Cemetery in Gorham.
