Obituary

AUGUSTA- Mrs. Juanita G. "Nita" (Goodrich) Lovejoy, 85, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at the Woodlands Senior Living of Hallowell with her family at her side. She is the wife of Floyd V. Lovejoy with whom she shared 68 years of marriage. Nita was born October 3, 1937, in Dexter, Maine. She is the daughter of the late Clayton H. Goodrich and Mary (Salisbury) Huff. She was a graduate of Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Maine and Hussan College in Bangor, Maine. Juanita has resided in Augusta for over 60 years, previously residing in Buffalo, NY and Pittsfield, Maine. Nita worked as a Secretary for the Augusta School System for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Green Street United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 2 as well as Pi Rho Zeta. Juanita enjoyed genealogy, poetry, crossword puzzles, antiques, amateur herbalist, traveling, history and Nascar. In addition to her loving husband Floyd, Nita is survived by her two sons David F. Lovejoy and his wife Lisa of Augusta and Dennis L. Lovejoy and his wife Kellie of Fairborn, Ohio. Her grandchildren Derek, Victoria and Kimberly. Her brothers Harry Goodrich and Gary Goodrich, Her sisters Annabelle Hayes and her husband Jack and Charlotte Collins and her husband Don. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In honoring Juanita's wishes Funeral Services and burial were held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers donations in Nita's name may be made to the MCI Alumni Fund, Pittsfield, Maine.
