Kathryn “Kay” Stone, 100, of Hancock, ME, passed away at 4:19 AM on January 13, 2024 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL.

Kay was born on October 30, 1923, in Bangor, ME. She married Donald Stone in October of 1981, and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2012.

Kay is survived by her son-in-law, Robert Sorrell of Paris, TN, stepdaughters, Donna Hinshaw and Marjorie Bachelder, grandson, William Sorrell of Covington, IN, granddaughter-in-law, Lora Sorrell of Covington, IN, two great granddaughters, Ashleigh (Mark) Dice of Covington, IN and Mackensey Sorrell of Carmel, IN.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Stone, and one daughter, Bonita “Bonnie” Sorrell.

Kay was very active in several American Legion Auxiliary organizations with her husband Donald for may years.

Kay will be laid to rest with her husband, Donald Stone at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta, ME. A committal service will be held on Monday May 6, at 12pm at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
