BEAUFORT, S.C. ? L/Cpl. William 'Alan' Fuller Jr. of Beaufort, S.C., and Manchester, Maine, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in Manchester. He was born Aug. 30, 1981, in Augusta, Maine, the son of William and Deborah Fuller. He graduated from Maranacook Community High School, the class of 2000. He joined the Kennebec Valley Young Marines in 1995 and was discharged June 2000. He also was a member of the Manchester Junior Volunteer Fire Department. After his graduation from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps in August of 2000. He was an FA/18 ejection seat mechanic in the United States Marine Corps stationed in Beaufort, S.C. He was married Sept. 28, 2001, to his soulmate Nicole M. Jolin. Alan's favorite pastimes were hunting, riding his Harley motorcycle, fishing, trying to go 4-wheeling with his truck and spending quality time with his wife, family and friends. He is survived by his wife L/Cpl. Nicole M. Fuller of Beaufort, S.C.; his parents, William and Deborah Fuller of Manchester; sisters, Rosa McGrail of Skowhegan, Catherine Nelson and husband, Kevin, of Palmyra, Pamela Fuller and fiance, Clint Manzer, of North Anson, and Kara Fuller of Manchester; mother-in-law, Maria Burgess, and father-in-law, Leon Burgess, brother-in-law, Leon Burgess Jr., all of Belgrade; grandparents, Joan and Robert Russ of Pittston, Joe and Georgette Moore of Waterville, and Arthur Wheeler of Skowhegan; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31. Burial will follow in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
