WINTHROP- Leon Palmer, a loving father, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2024, at his home in Winthrop, Maine, at the age of 69.
Born on January 24, 1955, Leon was the son of Richard Palmer and Eloise Wentworth Palmer, and Jesse Holt, who lovingly treated him as one of his own. He grew up with a strong sense of compassion and kindness, traits that defined his life.
Leon was predeceased by his parents, Richard Palmer and Eloise Wentworth; his father figure, Jesse Holt; and his sister, Sharon Holt.
Leon is survived by his brother, Eugene Holt of Winthrop, Maine; sisters, Patricia Marshall of Winthrop, Maine, Theresa Holt of Maine, Joanne Holt of Solon, Maine, Helen Linkletter of Solon, Maine and Arlene Holt of Lewiston, Maine; two sons, Aaron Cadwell of Monmouth, Maine, and Daniel McLeod of Paris, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Leon cherished his relationships with his family members. He was especially close to his sister, Patricia Marshall, and his brother, Eugene Holt. Notably, he shared a close relationship with his niece, Debra Marshall, who selflessly cared for his medical needs and provided unwavering support and love.
Leon was employed by Parker's Towing and Car Care in Leeds, Maine, where he demonstrated his work ethic and dedication.
In his free time, Leon cherished moments with his family, particularly his beloved dog, Hazel.
Leon's selfless nature and willingness to help others without expectation of reward left an indelible mark on those around him. His kindness, generosity, and love inspired countless lives.
A celebration of Leon's life will be held at Glenside Cemetery in the spring.
