Obituary

Augusta - Leona C. Morrissette, 86, entered into rest on Wednesday March 28, 2007 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Gray Birch, following a long illness. She was born in Augusta on July 15, 1920 the daughter of Leon E. and Lenora (Harmon) Doyle. Leona had worked at Augusta General Hospital and retired from Williams Nursing Homes as a geriatric nurse assistant and medical technician. Surviving her are two daughters, Jean S. McKenna and her husband Robert of Hallowell and Sharyn L. Ogden and her husband Walter of Monmouth; two sons Stephen P. Morrissette and his companion Jill Gallent of Farmingdale and Jeffrey A. Morrissette of South Gardiner; three grandchildren Jennifer L. Chamberlain and her husband Peter of South China, Amy L. Morrissette of Augusta and Scott W. Ogden of Monmouth and two great grandchildren Marissa Grace and Mallory Leigh Chamberlain. She enjoyed her family?s get togethers, camping, Sunday rides, golf and watching western shows on television. She was also an animal lover. There will be no visiting hours. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at the family lot in Mount Hope Cemetery, Augusta. Memorial donations in Leona?s memory may be made to the MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, Activities Dept., c/o Bobbie Jo Welch, 37 Gray Birch Drive, Augusta 04330 The family wishes to thank Dr. Onion and the staff at Family Medicine Institute for the compassion shown over the 20 plus years of her care and the staff at Gray Birch for the kindness and care given to Leona during her 5 year stay. They also wish to thank the HealthReach Hospice for their kindness, help and support to Leona and family. We thank them all.
