Obituary

WINTHROP - Linda Bisson MacDonald 77, passed away on May 14, 2022, from lung cancer. She was born in Augusta on August 16, 1944, to Lawrence and Eleanor (Riley) Bisson. Linda graduated from Winthrop High School in 1962. Linda spent over 20 years in Florida helping drug and alcohol patients recover from addiction and then continued her career at Health and Human Resources in Augusta, Maine, where she did both addiction and mental health counseling. She helped many souls over her long career and was a great support for many people on their road to recovery. Linda was predeceased by her parents and brothers Raymond and Stephen Bisson. Linda is survived by her two sons Erle MacDonald and wife Patty of Bend, Oregon and James MacDonald and wife Gail of Lake Mary, Florida; two granddaughters, Maryann MacDonald of Los Angeles, CA and Kaley MacDonald of Charleston, SC; nieces Amy Bisson Lehman and husband Matt, of Lebanon PA, Kimberly Bisson Thompson and husband Larry of Harrisburg NC, and Shauna Bisson of Wethersfield, CT; nephews Mark Bisson of Brunswick ME and Mathew Bisson of Augusta ME; cousin Natalie Leighton Weise, husband Andy and their son and caregiver to Aunt Linda, James Weise of Winthrop. A heartfelt thank you to her wonderful caregivers Rick, Bob, Nichole, Richard, and Jim. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 4-6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Glenside Cemetery, Turkey Lane, Winthrop. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop where memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.khrfuneralhomes.com Donations in Linda's name may be made to PALS Animal Shelter, 188 Case Road, Winthrop, ME 04364.
