Winthrop ~ Lorraine Eleanor Frates Ross, age 77, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 9:20 pm. at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Portland, ME. on September 18, 1938, the daughter of Alfred and Arlene (Gauthier) Frates. At an early age, her family moved to the quiet town of Cohasset, Massachusetts where she spent her childhood and most of her adult life. In 1978 David and Lorraine packed the family up and moved to Marietta, Georgia where they lived for 27 years. With the passing of her husband David Keith Ross in 2000, she decided to move back to Maine and has resided in Winthrop until her passing. She will be remembered as the beloved wife of 42 years, loving mother of David K. Ross Jr., Kevin Ross, Keith Ross, Karen Sinclair, Kimberly Woods and Dawn Duchette. She is also survived by her sister Beverly Frates, 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 niece, and 1 nephew. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday October 15, 2015 from 6-8pm at Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 62 Bowdoin St. Winthrop, where memories, condolences and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the website at www.khrfuneralhomes.com. Burial will be held at 12:30 on Friday, October 16 in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset, MA.
