WINTHROP ? Lottie White Young, 96, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Nicholson's Rehabilitation and Long Term Care, in Winthrop. She was born in Durham, Dec. 1, 1901, the daughter of Charles James White and Clara Jane Holmes White. Mrs. Young attended schools in Durham and Lisbon and attended Bliss College. She graduated from Pelletier's Beauty School in Lewiston in 1930 and operated her own home beauty salon for 41 years; five years in Richmond and then 36 in Winthrop. She is survived by a nephew, whom she brought up as a foster son, Kenneth Goodwin, and his wife, Beth; a granddaughter, Karen Goodwin Grossman, and her husband, Michael Grossman, and two great-grandchildren, Shannon and Nicholas, all of Arizona; a sister, Verna Anderson, of Richmond, and many nieces, nephews and cousins, including Jane Plummer and Blaine Plummer, of Monmouth. Mrs. Young was predeceased by her husband, Randall Young, in 1969, and a grandson, Randall Goodwin, in November 1999. She was also predeceased by five sisters and two brothers; Margery Walker, Sy White, William White, Mabel Goodwin, Beulah Coffin, Clara Keenan and Velma Dixon. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, with the Rev. Ed Dennis officiating. Spring burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery.
