Wayne- Louis William Lessard, 98, died at his home in Wayne, April 17, 2026, following a long illness. Louis was born in Worcester, MA on May 11, 1927, the son of the late Leo and Mildred (Blow) Lessard. At the age of 17, Louis enlisted in the United States Navy and spent time aboard ship off the coast of Cuba. He also became an honorary life member (First Degree) of the Knights of Columbus. He worked in Worcester most of his life, where he worked for the City of Worcester until his retirement in 1990. In 1992, Louis and Theresa moved to Florida where they lived for thirty years. He was an avid golfer, bowler and cherished his time with church members and friends. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the doctors and nurses at VA Togus, for the care and kindness shown to Louis. Also, thanks to Andwell Hospice who cared for him over the last 10 months, shared his laughter and helped him keep comfortable. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 78 years, Theresa (Rodrigue) Lessard; two daughters, Elaine Peters and Paula Vincent and her husband Leo; son Peter Lessard and his wife Catherine; Ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; a brother Adrien Lessard and his wife Connie; sister in law, Eva Donovan, brother in law, Philias Rodrique and his wife Barbara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 26, 2026, at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Winthrop, ME.
