AUGUSTA - Lucille H. Chase, 82, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. She was born in Augusta on Feb. 26, 1927, the daughter of Louise Cusson. She attended Augusta-area schools and graduated from Cony High School. On July 17, 1963, she married John P. Chase, the love of her life. They enjoyed many years of fishing, camping and traveling about the state of Maine. John died in 1981. Lucille worked as a nanny for most of her adult life, helping to raise the six children of John and Sylvia Lund for nearly 20 years. They remained very special to her up until her death. Lucille is survived by her special adopted family, Pam and Carl Laslie, of Windsor; and her adored granddaughter, Mallonee. She will be sadly missed by all of her friends and fellow 'auction goers.' At her request, there will be no visiting hours or service at this time. A graveside committal will take place in the spring at Mount Hope Cemetery, Augusta, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, John. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society, 10 Pet Haven Lane, Augusta, ME 04330, or to a favorite charity of choice. Miss Me -- But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little -- but not to long and not with your head bowed low, Remember the love that we once shared Miss me -- But let me go. For this journey that we all must take and each must go alone, It's all a part of the Master's plan a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know, and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds Miss me -- But let me go...
