READFIELD- Marc A. Bessette passed away on Thursday, September 22nd, 2022, after 5 courageous years with cancer. He was the son of Albert and Bernadette (Riendeau) Bessette.
Marc graduated from Cumberland High School in Rhode Island in the class of 1981 and went on to become an electrician where he worked most of his career. His most recent employment was at Daves Appliance in Winthrop, while also running an ice fishing trap business, Maranacook Traps, on the side.
Marc was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching football on TV and was always supporting his sons, Mitchell and Zachary at their football, hockey and lacrosse games. He was always very proud of his sons and did everything he could to support them, even it if meant taking them hunting and fishing, which was not his favorite. Marc was known for showing up late to events or family gatherings but would always make it a point to be there and spend time with family that he cherished so dearly. He also enjoyed riding his bike and was a big fan of "Cumby's coffee," and the occasional rum and coke. If he wasn't spending time with family or friends, then you could find him somewhere with his 4-legged companions, Josie and Mabel, who he loved very much.
He is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Bernadette Bessette, sister, Janice, and father-in-law Marvin Vorpagel.
Marc is survived by his loving wife, Susan Bessette, sons, Mitchell Bessette and girlfriend Abbi of Augusta, Zachary and wife Hannah Bessette of Monmouth, brothers, John and his wife Becky of Rhode Island, Paul and his wife Jemelie of Readfield, Robert of Rhode Island and sister Susan and her husband Don of Florida, mother-in-law, Evie Vorpagel of Readfield as well as many nieces, nephews and in laws.
