Augusta - Marguerite ?Peggy? Boghosian, 85, of Court St., died Sunday March 25, 2007 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, Gray Birch Drive, Augusta, after a brief illness. She was born in Attleboro, MA.on July 12, 1921 the daughter of George and Agnes (Eutujian) Hunkiar. She was a member of St. Mark?s Episcopal Church for 47 years, where she served as president of the Women?s Guild, and was also president of St. Mark?s Home for Women. Peggy was very active with the Augusta Players, serving as past president, director and as a featured performer in several of their productions. For several years she conducted a charm school for teens and adults at D.W. Adams Department Store in Augusta. Together, with her husband Archie, they operated Boghosian Shoes on Water Street for 13 years. Peggy spent many hours volunteering at the Bread of Life Kitchen, Augusta, and in more recent times, at Addie?s Attic Clothing Bank. Throughout her life, one of Peggy?s greatest pleasures was cooking and preparing meals for her family and friends. Anyone fortunate enough to have sampled her epicurean artistry, would surely attest to her expertise in the kitchen. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Archie Boghosian, on November 16, 1994. She is survived by a son, Richard Gregory Boghosian and his wife Betty of Belgrade; two daughters, Renee Ann Goodwin of Augusta and Roberta Leighton and her husband Gary of Augusta; also her ?adopted? son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Sherri Cennamo of Vassalboro; a sister Alice Jigarjian and her husband Edward of Boca Raton, Florida; her grandchildren, Kristin Sutton and her husband Kevin, Ryan Goodwin, Emily Harradon, Michelle Leighton, Joshua Leighton, Susan Leighton, Jared Richard Boghosian, Jessica Renee Boghosian and great grandson Nicholas Bradford Sutton; plus several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 30, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, March 31, at St. Mark?s Episcopal Church, with Rev. Elizabeth Miller, Celebrant. Burial will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta at a later date.
