Obituary

AUGUSTA - Marilyn J. Parmenter, 75, of Augusta, died Friday Dec. 18, 2009, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Steuben, June 19, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Doris (Parritt) Pinkham. She grew up in Ellsworth and attended Ellsworth schools. After high school, she moved to the Augusta area and worked for a number of years at Doc's Lunch as a cook and waitress. She later went to work at Augusta Mental Health Institute as a cook and in the laundry. Marilyn enjoyed knitting, playing bingo and the slot machines. Marilyn was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her husband, Roydon Parmenter; her son, Bob Parmenter of Augusta; two brothers-in-law, Mervin Parmenter and his wife, Madeline, of Whitefield, and Maynard Parmenter and his wife, Irene, of Charleston, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service in the spring at Chadwick Hill Cemetery.
