Obituary

BANGOR- Michael D. Carter, 41, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 3, 2025, at home. Mike was born on January 9, 1983, in Fayetteville, NC. He is the son of David Carter and his wife Jean of Lewiston and Kathleen Williams and her husband Harvey of Monmouth. He was a graduate of Cony High School, He went on to further his education and graduated from Central Maine Community College with his bachelor's degree. Mike was a very talented, top-notch carpenter and was always known as a perfectionist. He owned and operated Kingdom Carpentry. He was also the Director of a halfway house in Bangor where he touched many, many lives of people who were fighting addiction. He was also a director at Stop Addiction New England. Mikey will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends. He was that person who would give the shirt off his back to help out another. Mikey was a loving, caring man with a heart of gold who was also funny and very friendly. He was a devout Christian and always put others first. Mikey was always proud of his Irish heritage. In addition to his parents, Mikey survives his daughters whom he adored and treasured, Ana and Andi Carter. He leaves his brother Matt Carter of Augusta, his sister Jessie Hunnewell and her husband Chris of Chelsea as well as his grandfather Joseph Carter of Concord, NH. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mikey's visiting hours will be at the Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin Street, in Winthrop, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. His graveside service will be held in the spring at Glenside Cemetery, Turkey Lane, Winthrop. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop, Maine.
