READFIELD- Nelson Emanuel Peterson Sr., 79, passed away on December 2, 2023, at Heritage Rehabilitation and Living Center. Nelson was born on September 22, 1944, in Augusta, to the late Elis and Pauline (Lane) Peterson. He graduated from Kents Hill high school class of 1962. He met his wife, Pearl Crocker at Camp Vega, where he worked. They went on dates to the movies in Winthrop, ME and married June 23, 1962. Nelson happily retired from Maine Department of Transportation. In his free time, he enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Pearl, of 61 years, his children, Dori Peterson, Nelson Emanuel Peterson Jr and Karen (Peterson) Hastings. His sister, Annette Peterson Donaghy, niece, Alex and nephew, Aaron Donaghy. Grandchildren, Jessica and Eric Dube, Nelson Emanuel Peterson 3rd, Gabriel and Evan Hastings, and Jaci and Danny. As well as two great grandchildren, Blaze and Erik Dube. In addition to his parents, Nelson is predeceased by his uncle, Nils Peterson and brother, Carl Peterson. Nelson's memorial service will be held on Saturday December 9th at 11AM, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop. A celebration of life will follow at the Manchester Lions Club.
