WINTHROP-Pamela Gail Orr Cobb, 43, of Winthrop, died peacefully at home on Oct. 8, 2001 after a courageous 10-month battle with a rare cancer. She was born in Stamford, Conn., Sep. 7, 1958, the daughter of Ronald Kenneth and Shirley (Humphrey) Orr. Pam will always be remembered for her love of children, birds, animals, and her flower gardens. Pam was proud of and passionate about her children?s activities and interests, whether it was sports, school, or anything else they were involved in. Pam also enjoyed downhill skiing. She always had a smile and a positive word for everyone she met. Pam was educated in Winthrop schools, graduating in 1976 from Winthrop High School, and attended the University of Maine at Orono. She worked in the restaurant business for several years before becoming employed by the State of Maine, where she worked for 18 years. Pam was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Catholic Women?s Club. She was a Sunday school teacher and was very involved in church activities. Pam is survived by her loving husband, David ?Joe? Cobb, and the loves of her life, her two sons, Tyler David Cobb and Riley Richard Cobb, all of Winthrop; her sisters, Jan Lachapelle, and her husband, Bill, of Readfield and Cindy Pinkham, and her husband, Jeff, of Fayette; her brother, Randy Orr, and his wife, Tricia, of Roxbury; her mother-in-law, Marion Cobb, of Winthrop; her sisters-in-law Ann Bird, and her husband, Bob, of Desplaines, I., Pat Cobb, of Shrewsbury, Mass., and Judy Fernald, and her husband, Richard, of Hampden; her brothers-in-law, Ricky Cobb, and his wife, Peggy, of Winthrop, Kevin Cobb, and his wife, Carol, of Winthrop, and Stevie Cobb, and his wife, Suzette, of Turners Falls, Mass.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and 19 special nieces and nephews. Pam was pre-deceased by her mother and father. Relatives and friends are invited to visit and share memories with Pam?s family from 1-3 & 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop. A celebration of Pam?s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Rev. Brian Blanchette officiating. The family invites you to join them following the celebration for a time of sharing at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall. Burial will be at a later date in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop.
