WINTHROP – Patricia "Pat" Jeannine White, 90, passed away at Maine General Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care at Glenridge in Augusta on June 3, 2024. She was born on April 18, 1934, in Lewiston to the late Joseph Leo and Eva (Labonte) Vaillancourt. Pat is survived by her son Jeffrey White and wife Michelle of Winthrop; her daughter Catherine Thomas and husband Doug of East Winthrop; her daughter-in-law Paula White of Winthrop; as well as her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her loving husband Ron and her son Timothy. Pat married Ronald White on Jan. 23, 1960 at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Lewiston. Pat and Ron loved fishing together on their boat, camping seasonally at the Birches Campground in Litchfield, and attending Oxford Plains Speedway, where Ron previously raced, and their sons also raced together. Pat and Ron were truly soulmates, and their marriage was a true example of friendship, respect, and love. Pat welcomed everyone in her home. Pat was affectionately referred to as "Meme", "Grammy", or "Gram" to many who were not biologically hers. Everywhere she went, Pat was greeted with a hug from someone who reminisced with her about memories of the past. Lifelong friends of Pat's children and grandchildren often recall being treated as part of the family, always welcomed and loved. Pat took immense pride in providing a homemade meal or baked treat for friends, family, or anyone in need. Pat was an amazing cook, and her recipes filled her family and friends with comfort and love. Pat showed incredible strength and perseverance throughout her life. As a cancer survivor, Pat proudly told her story to many and provided support to others who were going through treatment. Pat was also known to stand her ground when it was necessary, always speaking up for what she believed in and fighting for the underdog. Prior to her diminished state, Pat would often express how grateful she was to have lived a long life full of wonderful experiences as well as a loving family, many good friends and compassionate care givers. She truly embodied the adage of a life well lived. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday June 26 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, Winthrop. Immediately after, Pat will be placed in her place of rest with her husband at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery with a celebration of her life to follow at the American Legion Post 40, Winthrop.
