Philip L. Lucas III Obituary (1962

WINTHROP - Philip L. 'Luke' Lucas III, 49, of Birch Street, died peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at his home. He was born in Augusta on April 21, 1962, the son of Philip and Ruthann (Fenton) Lucas. Luke graduated from Winthrop High School in 1981. He had worked in the family business, Lucas Salvage in Readfield, Kirshner's in Augusta and most recently was employed at the Birches in Rockwood. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, grooming the snowmobile trails and taking people on Jeep tours. He was predeceased by his parents, Philip Lucas Jr. and Ruthann Staples; and a sister, Sharon Webber. He is survived by a son, Jacob Lucas, and a daughter, Carissa Lucas, both of Readfield; a stepson, Tyler Boothby; two brothers, Michael Lucas and his wife, Patricia, of Winthrop, and Jeffrey Webber of Mount Vernon; three sisters, Brenda Sullivan of Winthrop, Penny Lucas of Winthrop and Stephanie Webber of Belgrade; a stepmother Elizabeth Webber of Mount Vernon; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and his extended family at the Birches. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 20 at East Readfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michael Lucas, 28 Galeville St., Winthrop, to assist with funeral expenses.
