Obituary

WINTHROP-Phyllis E. ?Vip? (Auclair) Pitman, 98, of Winthrop, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Nicholson?s Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center, Winthrop. She was born in Lewiston, May 7, 1903, the daughter of Gregory and Orilee (Laviteau) Paradis. She worked in the corn shop at Portland Packing Co. ,Winthrop, for eight years and later worked at Carleton Woolen Mill as a winder for 16 years. She was a life long member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Winthrop. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Auclair; her second husband, Donald Pitman; and two sons, Walter and Donald Auclair; and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons, Richard Auclair, of Winthrop, and Merle Auclair, of Augusta; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop. The Rev. Brian Blanchette will officiate. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.
