Raymond A. Avery, Jr. Obituary (2021)

WINTHROP- Raymond A. Avery, Jr., 82, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 in Maine General Rehabilitation and Long Term Care Glenridge after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Grace (Hackett) Avery. Raymond was born May 27, 1939 in Rumney, NH. He was raised by his mother Una and Arthur Lashua. Raymond was a United States Navy veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict and held the rank of E-3. He was a Day Trader for the Stock Market for many years until his retirement. Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family, he also enjoyed camping, fishing, and going to the race track. He was also an amazing gardener. He will always be remembered as a kind, hard working man who cherished his wife, Grace. He is survived by his children Wendy Avery of Winthrop, Christopher Avery of Winthrop, Rick Avery and his wife MaryAnn of Amherst, NH, Casey Avery and his wife Hannah of Readfield. His grandchildren Olivia, Alex, Rick, Justin, Jarrid, Jordan, CJ, Angela, Leeann and Talia. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his loving wife Grace, Raymond is predeceased by his son James Avery and his brother, Timothy Avery. In honoring with Raymond’s wishes there will be no visiting hours and funeral services will be held privately.
