Augusta- Richard “Dick” Beach, age 95, of Augusta, Maine, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

Dick was born on April 4, 1931, in Belfast, Maine and he attended Belfast public schools. Upon graduation from high school, he worked locally at Mathews Brothers Co. until he and Helen, the love of his life of whom he was married 64 years, moved to Augusta, Maine to start their family.

After moving to Augusta, Dick and Helen built a home and he was employed by Statler Tissue mill where he ultimately reached the position of supervisor of the finishing room. He worked there for over 40 years prior to retirement following the mills closure.

There were two things in life that Dick loved more than anything: his family and the outdoors. He lived a life of incredible devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. If there was spare time to be had, he could be found fishing in the spring, summer, or winter and hunting ducks and deer in the fall. He was fortunate enough to continue to hunt deer through last season at the age of 94-something he always did with his son and grandson at their family property.

Dick is survived by his son James Beach and his wife Michelle; daughter-in-law Sabrina; his grandchildren, Brian Beach and his wife Katie, Katie Beach-Bussiere and her husband Kieth, and Nicholas Beach and his wife Liz; and great-grandchildren Colton, Alex, and Bennett.

Dick is predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Bertha, his wife Helen, his son John, and brothers Frank, Basil, and Robert.
