READFIELD-Robert (Bob) Lee Broad of passed away on Monday, 3/18/2024. Bob was born in Bernardston, MA on June 21, 1941. He attended school in Mt. Vernon and Winthrop. As a young man, Bob worked for farmers and woodsman in the area. He began a long working career at age 17 in road construction; drove trucks for Isaacson's Lumber in Livermore; worked for Winthrop Tool and Die, before opening Broad Construction when finally finding his calling working first in home remodeling and then building new homes. Bob was a talented craftsman and could build almost anything. After retiring he developed the art of turning graceful, light wooden bowls. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and snowmobiling and passed that enjoyment to his children. He was a member of the Lafayette Lodge of the Masonics. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Mabel Broad, sister Audrey Lewis, brother Richard Broad and three sons, Shawn, Keith, and baby Randy Broad. He is survived by his wife, Mary G. Broad of Readfield; daughter Pamela Gerrier(Eddie) of Grand Forks, ND; step-children, Sharon Bucalo (Johhny) Cincinnati, OH, Richard Broad(Sheila Ervin) Readfield and Sandra Kent(Kenneth) Richmond, VA; 7 grandchildren: Jaime Moore, Kimberly Herrin, Lee Broad, Dustin Broad, Josh Broad, Kyle Broad and Kelsey Broad, and beloved great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the attentive and caring staff at Maine Medical Center who took care of him during his final days.
