Robert Herzig July 12, 1959 - June 19, 2025 Robert Herzig, beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love. He was predeceased by his parents, Carol A. (Hagerman) Herzig and Charles A. Herzig, as well as his cherished daughter, Samantha C. Herzig. Robert is survived by his sisters, Susan Fry and her husband Bill, and Lisa Connor and her husband James and their children. Born in Old Bridge, New Jersey, on July 12, 1959, Robert was a man of adventure and kindness. He married the love of his life, Donna Tondreau Herzig, in August of 2001. Together, they traversed the roads of America, spending years as truckers, creating memories, and embracing the freedom of the open highway. After retiring, Robert and Donna returned to Donna's roots, settling back in the beautiful state of Maine with their beloved doggie travel companion, Toccoa, who has since passed. His love for animals shown through, as over the years, he cared for many cats, dogs, and horses. He also was an avid gardener with a special love for flowers. Robert had a generous spirit and an unwavering willingness to lend a hand to those in need. He brought joy to countless children by ensuring they received gifts each Christmas, embodying the true spirit of giving. A dedicated volunteer, he spent many years at Maine Greyhound Placement Service as grounds keeper. It was here that he found his current beloved companion, Scrappy the Greyhound, who will sorely miss his constant presence. Robert also leaves behind Tramp, Donna's loyal companion, and the newest addition to their family, Oreo. His meticulous nature will be remembered by those who relied on him to remind them to inspect or register their cars. Robert had a remarkable eye for detail and a sense of responsibility that touched everyone around him. Though we mourn the loss of Robert, we take solace in knowing he is now at peace, free from pain, and surrounded by love. Robert, you will be deeply missed by all who knew you.
